Keyword Research Services - Great Idea Or Non Starter?

Are you like me and struggle with keyword research? I can find keywords all day long. The problem is though that most are next to useless, or at least seem to be.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. After all, they should be giving out accurate info. Well, it turns out the figures aren't always right.

The results you see are not always correct, far from it. It would have been correct at some point though. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.

I was going for a keyword that had roughly five thousand competing pages. I was pretty sure I could get a good result with that keyword. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

It didn't take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I couldn't believe my eyes. I started to think thinks weren't going to be easy as I thought. Turned out though that an awful lot of the extra competing pages had my articles on them!

If I had saw 9000 competing sites I would have passed this keyword by. Turns out I was competing mostly against myself as my article was the cause of these sites ranking. Not a bad situation to be in if you ask me.

I knew I wasn't going to get lucky all the time so I decided to try a keyword research service. I was looking to get some decent keywords delivered on a daily basis. Balancing cost against time taken (by me) seemed to prove it could be a valuable asset.

Travis Sago was offering a keyword research service which I decided to try. Travis being numero uno in the bum marketing world. Bum marketing is something I really like.

It takes me an hour or two to come up with a couple of decent keywords. Getting them delivered is a huge help. And a couple hours work is pretty valuable to me. If I put the time saved up against the daily cost it shows clearly there's value to be had.

Outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing. Seems to be all you hear from the gurus of internet marketing. I reckon there's not much difference here. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.
