5 SEO Tips To Get Your Website Ranked Higher

For the beginning Webmaster, SE Optimization is something akin to black magic. As a Guaranteed Houston SEO, I believe part of this misunderstanding is the result of all the misinformation spouted out by scores of people calling their self SEO experts. Some do this because they don't know any better while many others do it because their Clients would stop paying them if they knew how easy it was to rank a web site. SEO isn't brain surgery my good friend. It's nothing more than systematically building and optimizing a website the same way over and over to achieve high rankings.

You want to get off to a good start. To begin with, you should make sure that your main keywords are part of the domain name if you can arrange it. All things being equal, a site with your keywords in the domain name will rank higher than a website without the keywords contained in the URL.

Now that you have that done, the you keywords should be added in the Website name. This helps search engines like Google,Yahoo and MSN figure out what subject your site is covering.

You should also use keywords in the Title of each page or article on your site, or at least, you should use some keywords in the title of the page or article. This also helps the search engines determine what the subject of the page is, what it's about and how relevant it is to the search term being searched for. Also, the page Title should also be used in your H1 tag. Search engines give a lot of value to the H1 tag and so it's important in good SEO practices. If you're using a web design company company, make certain they know how to do this one little thing.

Now that you have those three things out of the way, it's important that your keywords show up in the content of the page. You should insert the keywords into the first paragraph somewhere and several more times througout the article depending on the length. It's also important to put it near the end of the page or article. A few more times between the first and last paragraph won't hurt, in summary, just make sure you use them at the first of the article and again at the end.

Lastly, the most important aspect of Website SE Optimization actually takes place off site. In my opinion, the most important thing in getting higher ranks for a Website is backlinks going back to your Website. And it's not enough to just get backlinks, these backlinks need to have your keywords as the Anchor text of the backlinks.

How important are links back to your site? Well, I can rank a website that doesn't have the keywords in the domain, one that doesn't have keywords in the Website Title, Page Title and in the Content (although it's much, much harder to do), but without anchored backward links leading back to your site, {it is nearly impossible} to rank a site in Google for any search terms that are the least bit in demand.
