Anyone can make a site, but the question is, can you make a site that will rank well. This will allow for the most exposure, which leads to more traffic, which will lead to more sales.
This article presents 3 big tips for optimizing website content for ranking in the search engines.
1. Unique Content – A lot of people are putting sites out there that are basically clone sites.Search engines are identifying these sites to rank them lower. The search engines want you to give value to the web, not just clutter it up. What you want to do is provide a site that has good unique content.
Think about it like this: If you’re choosing between 100 sites that look the same and the one site that is different and unique, which one are you going to choose? The one that sticks out is going to rank better.Take time to really think through your site. This may take more time, but it will prove to be more profitable in the end.
2.Good Keywords - It's all about the keywords. You can make a good site, but if it does not have the right keywords, it won’t rank well.So where you do you look? Many places have free keyword search tools, including Google.
There are also many pay sites that can tell you how popular a keyword is.The key is to find keywords that generate a good number of searches a month, but don't have a lot of competitors. A good guideline to follow is a keyword that gets 200 or more monthly searches, but has 10,000 or fewer competitor sites.if you can, find about 20 of these.
3. Website Structure – Once you have your keywords, what do you do with them?Search engines send out spiders to your site to get the relevant information from it.The main goal is to make it easy for the spider to get the relevant information on your site.
You can do this by using a keyword rich title.Use one of your best keywords in the title. If you want to use more than one, separate them using "|". At the same time, limit it to only 2 or 3 keywords. Choose the best ones and let that be the title to your site.
You can also use meta and robots tags.Meta tags are where you can put relevant keywords to your site. Put the meta tags in the header of your site.If you overdo it, though, it will hurt you because the search engines will think you are keyword stuffing.
The robots tag basically gives permission to the search engine spiders to search your site.Use "meta name="robots" content="all" to have the spiders spider your site.
